Saint Etienne and Tricky confirm Cork dates
They're both being posh and playing the Opera House.
Forever and Note Productions have scored something of a coup by bringing Saint Etienne to the Cork Opera House on May 30 for their only Irish date of the year – well, unless the festival season and, in particular, the Electric Picnic beckons.
The band will be performing their legendary Foxbase Alpha album in its entirety, and then belting out a ‘greatest hits’ set. Not wanting the night to end there, Bob Stanley will also be spinning a few retro-flavoured tunes afterwards.
Released in 1991 – god, we’re feeling old! – Foxbase Alpha was nominated for the then inaugural Mercury Music Prize but lost out to Primal Scream’s Screamadelica.
The same promoters also bring Tricky to the Opera House on May 24, with tickets for both gigs €30.
