Sailing By

Sinéad Lohan: “Sailing By” (Dara Records)

Forget about the title track ‘Sailing By’. It might be pleasant and radio friendly but it’s just a little too polite and formulaic. Indeed, the real sting of this disc lies in the controlled tension of the other tracks, ‘Bee In The Bottle’ and ‘Send Me A River’, which sound convincingly committed and engagé. They suggest far more strongly the authentic sound of a genuine talent.
