Sadder Day Blues
The title track is faintly reminiscent of ‘Shakin’ All Over’.
Punky power pop from the Breakfast club, the title track is faintly reminiscent of ‘Shakin’ All Over’, while ‘The Karl Marx Experience’ sounds like a sweeter Stranglers, but maybe a little too sweet. ‘Saxaphone’ is similar in feel, but again sounds like a skank-rock reworking of the classic ‘It Don’t Mean A Thing If It ‘Ain’t Got That Swing’. NYP might benefit from refraining from wiping their noses on their sleeves. Too many obvious influences, y’see. ‘Kim Novak’ saves the day, though. Pixies style power-pop; shoulda’ been the lead track, boys.
