Rowland in to town
Dexy's Midnight Runners descend upon Vicar St this November
Dexy's Midnight Runners do the resurrection shuffle on November 15 when they swing by Dublin's Vicar St.
Chart regulars for much of the early '80s, the Celtic Soul Rebels split 17 years ago with mainman Kevin Rowland embarking on a largely unsuccessful solo career – and disastrous period as a cross-dresser.
Assisted by fellow founder members Pete Williams and Lucy Morgan, Rowland says it'll be more than just a Greatest Hits package.
"Don't expect a revival because you'll be disappointed," he says. "We intend to bring a theatrical edge to the whole show…we will be doing at least a couple of new songs and we will be putting a new perspective on the whole thing. A lot of the album tracks have been reappraised to make them relevant to us, and, I believe, the audience, now."
There will however be a Best Of… in September featuring two new tracks, 'Manhood' and 'My Life In England (Part One)'.
