Remembering Tony Fenton one year on
Today marks the first anniversary of the death of The Dude
Today, Hot Press is fondly remembering our departed friend Tony Fenton.
While there's rarely a day that goes by without The Dude being in our thoughts, today marks the first anniversary of his death. The legendary jock died from prostate cancer at the age of 53, having battled the disease for several years.
In a career that spanned from the pirate days with the likes of ARD and Big D to his wildly successful 2fm and Today FM tenures, he was a tireless supporter of Irish artists, as well as a friendly and familiar voice on the airwaves for listeners throughout the country.
As we raise a creamy dreamy in his honour - or a Premier cru, because it's a Premier cru kind of night, eh Tone?! - we look back at his fantastic interview with Olaf Tyaransen, which you can read here.
