Recent winners of the 02 band competition, Waterford’s The Real are here to collect their prize. To their credit, they’re making the most of their opportunity with this impressive two tracker. Billy Lynch’s falsetto vocals lend the standard indie backdrop an extra dimension, as does the gently rolling piano on ‘Winter Rain’. Obviously a band with the imagination and ambition to push themselves beyond the regular young band circuit and this isn’t a bad way to start.
