PRINTER CLIPs top Irish Indie chart
Irish singers are coming out on top this week as Bell X1 Paul Noonan’s side project Printer Clips and its latest self-titled album take the top spot. The Irish singer’s full-length album of soulful duets features a number of Irish female singers to share the top spot including Lisa Hannigan and Gemma Hayes.
Noonan’s duets knocked out last week’s number one album Definitely Maybe by English rock band Oasis, which sank to the No. 4 spot as English indie band Arctic Monkeys’s Am and country star Nathan Carter’s The Wagon Wheel – Live climbed ahead to second and third sports respectively.
New entries to the list, Norwegian electronic duo Royksopp & Robyn’s mini-album Do it again and New York singer-songwriter Sharon Van Etten’s Are we there also claimed the next two spots just days after their release dates.
Success has been swift, and this week saw a handful of quick victories. Fans looking to hear more of chart topper Noonan can catch him with Bell X1 at Forbidden Fruit this Saturday.
