Scribble and Rulers of the Planet's singles reviewed.
Evidently there’s something in the water in the people’s republic of Cork – a massive scene explosion seems imminent, and both these outfits look destined to be at the frontline of the invasion. Like fellow Corkonians The Frank and Walters, Scribble trade in audacious, tongue-in-cheek quirk-rock with a kick, and Declan’s heavily accented vocals are truly endearing. ROTP, on the other hand, do punk rock with an audacity and confidence that belies their years. They may be rough round the edges, but this energetic, exuberant single ably demonstrates their huge potential.
