Regional trials of the Irish DMC Mixing Championship kick off this week in Galway
The country goes completely decks mad this fortnight as the MotoMix Irish Technics DMC Mixing Finals roar into action.
Officially launched last week by Jackass star Chris "Partyboy" Pontius and his Irish fiancé, Claire Nolan, the country's premier DJ competition starts with regional showcases in Tribes, Salthill, Galway (August 12); Trinity Rooms, Limerick (13); An Cruiscin Lan, Cork (14); and Ulysses, Waterford (20).
The open-to-all eliminators take place from 3 till 6pm – to book a spot log on to www.choicecutsonline.com – with the winners slipmatting it out from 8 'til late.
The Dublin heat, which doubles up as the Grand Final, takes place at The Village on August 27. The eliminator round kicks off at 3pm, with the big kahunas battling it our in the finals round from 7.30pm to 11pm. The top 2 seeds will qualify for a place in the World Finals in London on September 4 and 5.
Taking care of guest mixing duties throughout the night are Tigertstyles and DJ Flip. Tickets for the Mixing Finals are €12 in advance from Ticketmaster and €15 on the door.
