Set to become TXFM – with plans in place to work in unison with Today FM – the decision has been taken at Phantom 105.2 to safeguard the station's future and continue delivering alternative and indie music.

CEO of Today FM, Peter McPartlin said: “There is still a real opportunity to deliver a sustainable indie-music service for Dublin that will have a broader appeal. I’m absolutely passionate about this and I know there is a great community across the radio, music and commercial communities in Dublin who feel the same way. With the support of our listeners, the backing of our shareholders, combined with Today FM’s resources, we believe that the indie-music fan base in Dublin will welcome this development.”
Ricky Geraghty, CEO of Phantom 105.2 said: “We have carefully reviewed the business model and strategy for Phantom 105.2 and following the restructuring we are very confident that the station will be given a new lease of life through its rebranding to TXFM. There will be obvious synergies that will come with our closer alignment to Today FM. The key platform of the strategy for TXFM is that we will maintain our absolute focus on alternative and indie rock music, and our aim will be to grow our audience base.”
