BTS fan documentary to release later this month
The film will be in cinemas Wednesday, July 30.
The first trailer for the documentary BTS ARMY: FOREVER WE ARE YOUNG has been released.
The film centres around the BTS fandom known as ARMY (Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth) which consists of 90 million members. Fans ranging from visitors at a BTS convention in Lewisville, Texas to a choreographer in Seoul are featured.
BTS are a South Korean boyband that debuted in 2013. The group have been nominated for five Grammy awards and made the Billboard Hot 100 six times.
According to a statement, FOREVER WE ARE YOUNG defies "stereotypes of pop fans as screaming teens, ARMY is an intergenerational, culturally savvy, and socially active movement that is as diverse as the world itself."
The documentary "offers an unprecedented look at the deep emotional connection between the band and their fans through the lens of personal stories, global fan movements, and unforgettable concert memories," according to a statement.
“There is no BTS without ARMY and no ARMY without BTS," said Grace Lee and Patty Ahn, co-directors of the film.
Tickets for limited global screenings are on sale now and can be found here.
