Paul Weller teams up with Kevin Shields
'7 + 3 Is The Strikers Name' will feature on the Modfather's new album.
Paul Weller has been talking about the Kevin Shields collaboration, ‘7 + 3 Is The Strikers Name’, which features on his Wake Up The Nation album.
“He came down to the studio with a big bag of effects pedals and we took it from there,” the Modfather says. “There’s a dig at the royal family in the lyrics – that whole invisible establishment is still in power, nothing changes.”
Due on April 9, it also features two songs that his former – and until recently estranged – Jam bamdmate Bruce Foxton plays bass on.
The roll call of guests also includes ELO drummer Bev Bevan and Little Barrie guitarist Barrie Cadogan.
