Open Heart Zoo

Another young newcomer, and a very different kettle of fish. The 19-year-old London based prodigy generates an almost classical sound chiefly using piano, unrecognisable guitars and the odd sample. ‘Open Heart Zoo’ is an exceptionally strange and haunting track, the theme from the recent Lexus ad, with an eerie choirboy vocal that out-weirds even Thom Yorke. I imagine his debut album will be like the bizarre soundtrack from a Peter Greenaway film; anything that gets the hackles rising to this extent is worth investigating.
