Obie Trice to play headlining gig in Dublin

Obie Trice will be raising glasses at the Ambassador Theatre next month to celebrate his first Irish headliner on March 31.

As the latest graduate from the Shady Records school of hip-hop, Obie Trice made his grand European entrée last summer during Eminem's Anger Management tour.

Meeting with Hot Press during the Punchestown stint, Obie waxed lyrical about his first impressions of Ireland: "Lucky charms and clovers and Guinness stout! I love Ireland. It's nice out here. It's real green and four-leaf-clover-ly out here, you know what I'm saying."

"I was looking for the Guinness, Where’s the Guinness? I'm a Budweiser drinker, but since I'm here I've gotta respect Ireland, check it out."

As well as sampling the Guinness on his next visit, Obie will be playing tracks from his newly released album, Cheers.

"I named the album Cheers because I love beer. The simple fact is Cheers is like a celebration for me to be here today. The album is crazy 'cause it’s all different types of emotions – it's fun, it's sad, it's crazy it's serious. I put a lot of effort into this first album and its dope."

Tickets are priced at €25 and go on sale this Saturday, February 14 at 9.30am.
