Oasis “shocked and saddened” after man dies following Wembley Stadium fall
"Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved," said Oasis.
Oasis have said they are “shocked and saddened” following the death of a man who fell at the band’s Wembley show on Saturday.
“A man – aged in his 40s – was found with injuries consistent with a fall,” according to a police statement. “He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene."
"The stadium was busy, and we believe it is likely a number of people witnessed the incident, or may knowingly or unknowingly have caught it on mobile phone video footage.”
“If you have any information that could help us to confirm what happened, please call 101.”
Reports suggested that the man fell from the upper tier of the 90,000-capacity stadium.
"Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved,” said the band in a statement.
The Saturday show was the band's fourth of five sold out shows at the stadium.
"This one's for all the people who can't be here tonight, but who are here, if you know what I mean, and aren't they looking lovely? Live Forever," said Liam Gallagher during the band's Sunday show, before playing their song of the same name.
Oasis are set to return to the venue in September, after two nights in Croke Park, Dublin on August 16 and 17.
