Fontaines D.C. debut new songs 'Marianne' and 'Six Shot Morning' at their first gig in almost a year
The band played their first headline show in almost a year at Baluarte de la Candelaria in Cádiz, Spain, on August 8.
Fontaines D.C. have debuted two new songs, ‘Marianne’ and ‘Six Shot Morning’, during their first full headline show of 2026.
The band played their first show in almost a year on August 8 at Baluarte de la Candelaria in Cádiz, Spain. It was their first headline show since the passing of their manager Trevor Dietz.
‘Marianne’ came early in the set and showcases an industrial side of the band’s sound. Meanwhile, the synth-heavy and bassline-driven ‘Six Shot Morning’ played during the encore.
Fontaines have previously confirmed that they have been working on new material since the release of their album, Romance, in August of 2023.
Last week, they became the last artists to record a BBC live session at the world-renowned Maida Vale Studios. On August 3, the band played for the BBC 6 Music sessions with Steve Lamacq. The recording saw songs such as ‘It’s Amazing to be Young’, ‘Big Shot’ and ‘Bug’.
Fontaines are currently performing around Spain. They will play in Alicante today, August 10, and Pamplona on August 13.
They are also set to perform in France, Switzerland and Austria this month, before headlining the Sunday night of Electric Picnic on August 30.
