New in-their-own-words U2 book for release

HarperCollins have set up a microsite to promote the U2 By U2 book, which is set for worldwide publication on September 9.

As the title suggests, Bono, Adam, Larry and Edge have all contributed to “what promises to be the ultimate personal behind-the-scenes narrative on the life and times of their legendary band."

Along with the standard UK£30 version of the large format book, there will be a deluxe edition retailing at £100, 500 of which will be signed by the group.

Both will contain “more than 1000 photographs, many published for the first time, and will cover their entire career from the early days in Dublin through to their most recent tours and recordings. It will be designed by Steve Averill who has designed all of U2’s album covers, as well as their fazine, tour programmes and just about anything else that’s been sent out under U2’s name.”
