Monroe's Live lines up jam-packed January
Galway venue will host everything from sterling folk to rollicking rock
While the New Year might mean new beginnings for some, the good folks of Monroe's know when they're onto a winner, and have shunned all that resolution nonsense to continue bringing hot shows to the City of the Tribes.
Kicking off as they intend to continue, January's lineup is already looking to be a cracker; never more obvious than the ear-pleasing prospect of trad legends Matt Molloy (pictured) and John Carty teaming up on January 27.
Not to be outdone, alt-folk favourites The Whileaways take to the stage two days later, with the exciting eclecticism of Aldoc completing the double bill.
There's also some classic rock to tickle fancies through the month, in the shape of some of the best tribute acts around; No Stairway give Zep their inimitable treatment (16), Whole Lotta Voltage get gig-goers ready for the massive AC/DC show later in the year (23), while the sounds of Seattle swap the American west coast for that of Ireland, with Pearl Jem visiting January 30.
