Back Alley: “Money Talks” (Liquid)

This dance tune relies too heavily on basic drum machine beats to distinguish it from a plethora of similar stuff. The lead vocalist, who sounds like a male version of Alison Moyet in the 80s, is backed by a female voice whispering “Money talks, bullshit walks, if you wanna embrace me, American Express me, if you wanna hold me, bankroll me.”(!) There’s some nice piano work in the radio edit, and maybe Back Alley should flesh out the synthesised sound with further instrumentation.
