Money Shot

Mike TV: “Money Shot” (Hunter S. Records)

Lou Reed is the main purveyor of the nearly-spoken prose poem set to music but Mike TV do a really excellent job at a similar task on ‘Money Shot’. They succeed where so many others fall flat on their faces by virtue of the manner in which the supporting musical backdrop connotes an appropriate weirdness for the elliptical lyrics and synecdoche to resonate and sound believable. An alluring cesspool of sussed urban unconsciousness.
