Maria Butterly Celebrates Homecoming With New Single
Maria Butterly, the Irish singer who has resided in Los Angeles for several years, has celebrated her return to Ireland with a new single ‘Angel’, produced by renowned Irish producer Bill Shanley and available now from iTunes and her website.
She has also announced that she will team up with Shanley for her third album which will be released in March, 2010. It follows two independently-released albums It’s Just Me and Nashvillain Days.
Butterly is a multi instrumentalist, self-taught on guitar, mandolin and piano. Her style draws on influences from the Celtic/Irish folk genre and American country music. She has opened for artists such as Damien Rice, Michele Shocked, Hal Ketchum, The Proclaimers, Hothouse Flowers, The Saw Doctors and Dolores Keane, and performed at private/corporate events for the Irish Consulate, Merv Griffin, Melanie Griffiths, and Joni Mitchell. She also headlined the Angelica Huston Gala Event hosted by Grainne Seoige at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Beverly Hills, California.
