Made Up My Mind
‘Made Up My Mind’ is a further reiteration of Gray’s refusal to compromise his sadness and humanity
“And what is that you’re wearing?/Money’s ugly confidence/ You’ve sacrificed the poem of your imagination/ For these pounds and pence” from ‘What Are You?’, the second of this four track sampler of the shortly due second album Flesh, these lines perfectly sum up David Gray’s fiercely poetic vision. ‘Made Up My Mind’ is a further reiteration of Gray’s refusal to compromise his sadness and humanity and his artistic search for the truth. Once again, he blazes a romantic trail that few would dare to follow. May his flame burn long and bright.
