Little Green Cars for CMJ Music Marathon
You can listen to them perform live later (a lot later) tonight.
For the 32nd year, the CMJ Music Marathon will take place in New York City this month. With over 1,300 acts taking part, the annual event is said to be the birth place of many future successes. In 2009, Mumford & Sons performed at CMJ and the following year they found themselves nominated for several Grammys.
The New York Times has released their top 6 picks for this year’s shows, and amongst them is our very own Little Green Cars. The five-piece, who have been together since secondary school, recently signed with Glassnote Records.
With Glassnote also working with Mumford & Sons, and Little Green Cars having recorded with M&S producer Markus Dravs, there does seem to be a pattern forming.
While we hope history repeats itself for the Irish act at CMJ – let’s look quickly who else is on the NY Times list: Savages, Merchandise, Angel Haze, Flume and Icona Pop.
As for Little Green Cars, they play a WFUV showcase as part of the CMJ Music Marathon in the Living Room, New York tonight. The showcase will be broadcast live through the Alternative Side channel on WFUV's website and kicks off at midnight, our time. Night owls take note...
