Lana Del Rey announces new companion piece to upcoming album Stove

Lana Del Rey has announced a companion album to the long-awaited Stove, set for release later this year.

The companion album, Del Rey wrote on her Instagram, will be a “beautiful, secondary album … compiled by as many people as I could find to help me gather my thoughts about how much was changing.”

“So much has happened over the last four years, so much time waiting for things to come together and so much time wondering if it was ok that things were falling apart,” she continued. “And as the years went by, came a beautiful, secondary album… A commentary of sorts on everything that has been going on and the patience that was required.”

The singer has been teasing and pushing back the release date of the follow-up to her 2023 record, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, for about two years.

The album was originally scheduled for release under the name Lasso in September 2024. The name then changed to The Right Person Will Stay, with an updated release for May 2025. Finally, Del Rey announced the album’s name as Stove in August 2025.

Last year, Del Rey said the majority of the album will have a “country flair." Additionally, she said she wrote ‘Stars Fell on Alabama’ to feature on Stove. She sang the song at Stagecoach Festival in California in April 2025, alongside two other new tracks, ‘Quiet In The South’ and ’57.5.’

The artist said many of the songs featured on the upcoming album are pieces she’s performed before.

In the meantime, Del Rey posted photos of artwork for two vinyl records alongside the announcement – one featuring a portrait of herself framed by flowers titled “Stove” and another of a boat that appears to be named “Spyda,” which fans speculate could be the companion album’s title.
