Sylvan Esso announce new album Ow ∞
The album is now available to pre-order.
American electropop duo Sylvan Esso have announced their new album, Ow ∞, to be released September 11.
Ow ∞ comes as their first new album in four years and, according to the artists, marks the longest the band has ever spent writing a record.
Alongside the announcement, the band released a single off the album, 'Concrete Glen.'
“Ow ∞ was born from a period of ceaseless experimentation, improvisation and collaboration,” they said. “The result is both a technicolor totem of personal destruction, and an ecstatic invitation to party.”
The album features six different drummers, live guitar, bass, keys, vibraphone, woodwinds, Innato, organ, piano and electronics. Sylvan Esso are joined by a long list of collaborators, including Daniel Aged, who works with Frank Ocean, BJ Burton, who works with Bon Iver and Charli XCX, and Matt Douglas, who works with The Mountain Goats.
Consisting of Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn, Sylvan Esso made their debut with single ‘Hey Mami’ in July of 2013 and subsequently released their self-titled debut album in May, 2014.
The band received two Grammy nominations, both for Best Dance/Electronic Album – one in 2017 for What Now, and one in 2020 for Free Love.
Following Ow ∞’s release, Sylvan Esso will tour North America, spanning more than two dozen shows in 2026 and 2027.
The album is available to pre-order here.
