Lady Gaga has covered the theme song from an American children’s show Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood for a Super Bowl advertisement, and released a making-of teaser with Rocket Mortgage and Redfin.
In the making-of teaser, Gaga's long-time collaborator and producer Benjamin Rice talked about Mr. Rogers, saying that "human connection is everything". The description of the video says: "Join us behind the scenes at Shangri-La Studios, to witness the creation of this modern classic and its vital message on the importance of kindness, compassion and community".
"It's a special song to re-visit at this time," said Lady Gaga about 'Won't You Be My Neighbor'. The video also started a hashtag #BeAGoodNeighbor, widely shared on social media.
The song was recorded in collaboration with Rocket Mortgage (financial services company), and Redfin (real estate company). Rocket has been a two-time Ad Meter winner in 2021-22, with their commercials featuring Anna Kendrick and Tracy Morgan. Last year's Rocket's Super Bowl commercial depicted families and troops, featuring John Denver’s version of 'Take Me Home, Country Roads'.
The news about Gaga's Super Bowl ad arrive ahead the 2026 GRAMMY's, with Lady Gaga being nominated for seven awards. The nominations include Album of the Year, and Best Pop Vocal Album for her latest studio album MAYHEM, as well as Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Dance Pop Recording for 'Abracadabra'.
