Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars and Kendrick Lamar lead the nominations for this years VMAs
This year's VMAs introduced two new categories: Best Pop Artist and Best Country.
The VMAs have announced their nominees for this year's awards. Standouts include Lady Gaga, who leads with 12 nominations, alongside Bruno Mars with 11, Kendrick Lamar with 10, Sabrina Carpenter with 8 and Ariana Grande with 7.
Two new categories were introduced for this year's VMAs, including Best Pop Artist and Best Country, featuring Morgan Wallen and Jelly Roll.
Gaga's nominations include Artist of the Year, Best Album for Mayhem and Video of the Year. 'Die With A Smile,' a collaboration between Gaga and Mars, is nominated for Song of the Year, along with Best Collaboration.
Charli XCX received 5 nominations following her genre-defining album Brat, in the new Best Pop Artist and Video for Good categories.
Both Taylor Swift and Beyoncé are up for one award each, Artist of the Year. If either is crowned, they will become the most decorated artist in VMA history.
Swift earned the most awards last year, receiving 7 wins in total, including Video and Artist of the Year.
The host and performers of this years ceremony have yet to be revealed. Last year saw performances from Sabrina Carpenter and Chapell Roan.
The VMAs take place on September 7 in New York's USB Arena.
