Man jailed for stealing unreleased Beyoncé music
Kelvin Evans has been sentenced to a total of five years for the 2025 crime
The man who stole hard drives containing unreleased Beyoncé music has been sentenced to two years in prison and three years of probation.
Kelvin Evans, 41, pleaded guilty in Atlanta, Georgia, this week to charges including entering a vehicle and criminal trespass.
As The New York Times reports, the break-in took place in July 2025, ahead of Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour shows in Atlanta. Prosecutors said Evans broke into a Jeep rented by a choreographer and dancer working on the tour.
When they returned, the pair found the vehicle’s window smashed and their luggage missing. Among the stolen items were hard drives containing unreleased Beyoncé material, along with laptops and other personal belongings. The material has never been found.
Evans has been in custody since his arrest in August 2024.
Beyoncé finished her Cowboy Carter tour in July 2025, in support of her eighth studio album of the same name. The record is part of a planned trilogy, following the dance-house and disco-inspired Renaissance in 2022, whose tour became the highest-grossing by a female artist.
