Fontaines D.C. tease fifth album

Fontaines D.C. have shared a collaged photo with the caption “5” on Instagram. Concrete details are yet to be announced, but fans speculate this means a fifth album is on its way.

Last week, the band performed two new songs, ‘Marianne’ and ‘Six Shot Morning’ at their first show of 2026 at Baluarte de la Candelaria in Spain. It was also their first full headline show since the passing of their manager, Trevor Dietz, in June.

This month marks two years since Romance, the Dublin band’s fourth studio record. The album debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart and doubled the first-week sales of its predecessor.

Romance also earned two nominations at the 67^th annual Grammy Awards, including Best Rock Album.

On August 3, they became the last artists to record a BBC live session at the world-renowned Maida Vale Studios. The band played for the BBC 6 Music sessions with Steve Lamacq.

They also just finished up a round of shows in Spain, with a show in Alicante on August 10 and Pamplona on August 13. They are set to perform in France, Switzerland and Austria this month, before headlining the Sunday night of Electric Picnic on August 30.
