Listen to 'The Pit' and 'Two Birds Holding Hands' below.
The fictional band Mouse Rat from the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation – fronted by the character played by Chris Pratt – have released two new singles from their debut album, The Awesome Album, due to be released on August 27.
'The Pit' and 'Two Birds Holding Hands' arrive alongside an animated lyric video for the first track, with the visual referencing the first season of the series, where Pratt's Andy Dwyer falls and breaks his leg in a pit next to his girlfriend's house.
He later lives in the pit secretly in a tent after being broken up with by Ann Perkins, portrayed by Rashida Jones.
It comes with a cameo shoutout from actress Alison Becker, in character as the reporter from the show, Shauna Malwae-Tweep, reminiscing about her times reporting on the aforementioned pit.

The album will have a limited vinyl and merchandise release, as well as being released on all digital platforms.
The 16-track record will feature Nick Offerman's character Duke Silver and Jeff Tweedy from Wilco, who guest-starred as Scott Tanner, the singer of another fictional band in the show, Land Ho!.
Parks and Recreation, referred to as Parks and Rec by fans, ran for seven seasons with the star of the series Amy Poehler winning best actress at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards for her portrayal of Leslie Knope.
All main cast members reunited for a special last year set during the COVID-19 pandemic, fundraising for Feeding America's relief fund.
