Lackey
‘Lackey’ is another call to arms against the evils of The Man (presumably the same ‘man’ responsible for their connection to the world’s biggest record label) but is infused with such an infectious energy and righteous anger that they are actually starting to sound as important as they obviously think they are.
To be frank, there’s an awful lot about The Others to pick holes in – the way the NME seem so desperate for them to fill The Libertines’ void, singer Dominic’s comedy aggression, the fact that the other three look like middle aged ex-goths – yet they’re currently making music of such excitement that it all makes sense. ‘Lackey’ is another call to arms against the evils of The Man (presumably the same ‘man’ responsible for their connection to the world’s biggest record label) but is infused with such an infectious energy and righteous anger that they are actually starting to sound as important as they obviously think they are.
