Kendrick Lamar and SZA announce UK and European tour, though no Irish date

Critically acclaimed artists Kendrick Lamar and SZA have announced their co-headline Grand National Tour will be extended to Europe and the UK this summer, but there is no performance planned for Ireland so far.

The Europe/UK tour leg will begin on July 2 in Cologne, Germany. The American leg had been previously announced and is set to begin in April and finish in August.

The news about the tour follow Lamar's Super Bowl half-time show performance of last night, which featured SZA as a guest star. The tour supports the releases of SOS Deluxe: Lana (2024), the reissue of SZA's second album, and GNX (2024), Lamar's latest album. It is the first all-stadium tour for both artists.

The duo has collaborated in the past on the top-ten hit 'All the Stars,' the lead single to Black Panther's soundtrack album; on 'luther' and 'gloria,' two tracks from GNX, the first of which is an international top-ten hit; and on '30 For 30,' a track from Lana.

They both received accolades at the 67th Grammy Awards. SZA's song 'Saturn' took home the award for 'Best R&B Song,' a victory she shared with Irish singer-songwriter Cian Ducrot, who co-wrote the track. Kendrick's ubiquitous Drake diss-track, 'Not Like Us,' won him five accolades, 'Song of the Year' and 'Record of the Year' among them.

SZA has also released four new tracks for Lana ahead of Lamar's Super Bowl performance, with fan-favourite, previously unreleased 'Joni' making the cut.
