Cian Ducrot and Cry Before Dawn have both scored a massive week on the Irish Charts
Cian Ducrot claims the top spot on the Irish Albums Chart this week, while Cry Before Dawn are No.1 on the Independent Chart.
Following the release of his second album, Little Dreaming, last week, Cian Ducrot has soared straight to the top of the Irish Albums Chart. This is the Irish star's second consecutive No.1, having also topped the chart in 2023, with Victory.
The new album has been described by Hot Press as "warm, familiar and full of charm" – as well as "the sound of an artist finding joy in his craft, and inviting us to share in it."
“This album has been a crazy journey, it was an absolutely amazing experience," Cian says of the LP. "I set out to just be as creative and as free and as expressive as possible, and I think we’ve done that. It’s not an overstatement to say making the record has changed my life.”
He's not the only Irish act celebrating a massive week on the charts. Having returned last week with Open Water – their first collection of new material in 14 years – Cry Before Dawn have debuted at No.2 on the Irish Albums Chart, and No.1 on the Independent Chart.
The Wexford-formed band played a week of gigs and in-store performances around Ireland, to coincide with the release.
The Top 5 of this week's Irish Albums Chart also features Oasis's Time Flies: 1994-2009 at No.3; Amble's Reverie at No.4; and Fleetwood Mac's 50 Years: Don't Stop at No.5.
Over on the Irish Singles Chart, meanwhile, Kingfishr continue their reign at No.1 with 'Killeagh' – holding off stiff competition from Chappell Roan's new single, 'The Subway', which debuted at No.2.
