Choice Music Prize: CMAT and Amble among winners at live event in Vicar Street
The winning Irish Album of the Year receives a €10,000 prize fund
The winners of this year's Choice Music Prize were revealed at Thursday's live event at Vicar Street in Dublin – with CMAT taking home Irish Album of the Year for her acclaimed Euro-Country.
A judging panel made up of Irish music media professionals and industry experts gathered on the evening to decide on the winning album. As part of their prize, CMAT will receive a prize fund of €10,000, provided by IMRO and IRMA.
CMAT was also announced as Irish Artist of the Year, with Amble crowned Breakthrough Irish Artist of the Year.
The event – which also featured performances from several of the acts – was broadcast live on RTÉ 2FM.
Earlier in the day, Amble were announced as the winners of the Choice Music Prize for Irish Song of the Year, for 'Schoolyard Days', which was decided by a public vote.
Horslips' 1973 album The Táin was also honoured on the night as this year's Classic Irish Album.
Last year's winners included Fontaines D.C. (Irish Album of the Year), Jordan Adetunji (Irish Artist of the Year), KNEECAP (Breakthrough Irish Artist of the Year), Kabin Crew and Lisdoonvarna Crew's 'The Spark' (Irish Song of the Year), and Enya's Watermark (Classic Irish Album).
