Following on from the success of last year’s inaugural event in Tralee, the World Fleadh moves to Portlaoise from August 6 to 12.
Acts taking part in the knees-up include Katie Melua, Deacon Blue, The Proclaimers, Duke Special, Hothouse Flowers, Sandi Thom, Nizlopi, Carlos Nunez, George Murphy, Bill Coleman and Camembert Quartet.
As well as musical entertainment, there'll be theatre performances, 13 céilí’s, music, song and dance master classes, workshops and demonstrations, a scheduled session trail encompassing 20 venues, world title competitions, a world food and craft fair, two festival clubs and a variety of other fringe entertainments to cater for all tastes and ages.
80,000 visitors are expected over the course of the festival, which will take place at a custom-built village in Portlaoise.
