Kasabian headline Belfast leg of new music show
Fresh from strutting their stuff at Oxegen, Kasabian will be joined by The Rapture and Hot Chip to play a special show in Belfast as part of a new Channel 4 music programme.
Transmission, which airs on Friday nights, is a12-week series that blends live shows from chart-topping bands alongside interviews with artists and celebrities. Each week the show is in a different city.
Presenter Steve Jones said: "I am really looking forward to being in Belfast, as the people and the crowd are always amazing.”
He and co-presenter Lauren Laverne will make their way to Belfast’s BBC studios on Friday 28 July for the special performances from the trio of rising acts, which will air on August 4 at 11.30pm on Channel 4.
If the show whets your appetite for the bands, fret not - Kasabian are also confirmed for a conccert in Dublin’s Marlay Park on August 17 ahead of the release of their second album, Empire, on September 1. Disco rock band The Rapture have their Irish shows lined up at the Electric Picnic on September 3 in addition to a Belfast date at Mandela Hall on October 13.
