Kaiser Chiefs announce Irish date
Kaiser Chiefs demonstrate their 'next big thing' credentials on April 3 when they play a Dublin show in Whelan's.
Although named after one of South Africa's top footie teams, the quintet actually hail from Leeds and have an inordinate fondness for bands like The Kinks, Blur and Pulp.
"I do love that kind of songwriting - getting under the skin of the British people," admits lead singer Ricky Wilson who penned their recent top 20 hit, 'I Predict A Riot'.
Prior to that the equally hip and happening Rooster open their Irish account on February 12 with a visit to the Temple Bar Music Centre.
Equal parts Led Zep, Free and Guns N' Roses, the Londoners' eponymous debut album is already being talked about as a 2005 Mercury Music Prize contender.
