Kacey Musgraves announces new album Middle of Nowhere

Kacey Musgraves has announced her new album Middle of Nowhere, set for release on May 1 via Lost Highway. The announcement was accompanied by the single 'Dry Spell'.

The 13-track record was produced by Musgraves and her longtime collaborators Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk. It features multiple artists, including Willie Nelson, Miranda Lambert, Billy Strings, and Gregory Alan Isakov.

Echoing influences from genres such as bluegrass, pop, Norteño, and Zydeco, Middle of Nowhere explores the ideas of open space and traditional western elements. The album title was inspired by a sign located outside the singer's hometown in Golden, Texas which reads: "Somewhere in the Middle of Nowhere".

"I became fascinated with the concept of liminal space, both geographical and emotional," said Musgraves about the creation of the album.

"We don’t linger in these transitional, empty spaces long enough and rush to define where or whatever is next."

Musgraves has released a total of six studio albums, with 2024's Deeper Well being the latest. She has won eight Grammy Awards, seven Country Music Association Awards, and four Academy of Country Music Awards since the start of her career.

Elsewhere, In April 2024, she performed at Dublin’s 3Olympia Theatre as part of her Deeper Well World Tour.
