Emeli Sandé announces Dublin show

Emeli Sandé has announced a gig at Dublin's 3Olympia Theatre on February 2. It will be the first show in her upcoming tour of the UK and EU.

The Scottish singer is celebrating the 15 year anniversary of her debut LP, Our Version Of Events. A mix of R&B, soul, and pop, the album includes the hit singles 'Read All About It (Pt. III)', 'Clown', and 'Next To Me'. The latter reached No.1 on Irish charts and won two Ivor Novello awards.

The album has sold over 5 million copies worldwide, including over 45,000 in Ireland, where it peaked at No.14.

It won British Album of the Year at the 2013 BRIT Awards and spent 66 weeks uninterrupted in the UK Top 10, breaking the record for a debut album set by the Beatles in 1963.

Sandé will be performing the album in full, plus her greatest hits.

"I had my album prepared, but I had no idea whether it was going to resonate with people or be a successful project", Sandé said. "But in that moment, I really had to let the Med School know if I was coming back or not. And it was one of the most nerve-wracking decisions I've made in my life, but I think I made the right decision.

"I’d always, since I was very young, got great pleasure out of helping people, healing people in one way or another, and medicine seemed like the obvious choice to be able to do that", she explained. "But I'd never really considered I could do that with music."
