Johnny Appleseed
A close contender for SOTF were it not for the fact that its limited availability will probably make it nigh on impossible to get hold of, ‘Johnny Appleseed’ is nonetheless a fine addition to the Strummer canon.
A close contender for SOTF were it not for the fact that its limited availability will probably make it nigh on impossible to get hold of, ‘Johnny Appleseed’ is nonetheless a fine addition to the Strummer canon. A collision of musical styles that almost borders on the ramshackle, the indefatigable spirit that has always been at the core of his previous work holds it all together. South American style percussion, the odd touch of bluegrass (!) harmonies and instruments, dub (on b-side ‘At The Border, Guy’) and still one of the most emotive voices in popular music.
