The American singer-songwriter will headline a show at Dublin’s Whelan’s this May.
The singer and multi-instrumentalist Jake Clemons will return to Ireland with new music. Promoting his latest album Fear & Love, he will play four Irish shows from May 10 to May 13, 2017, one in Dublin on May 10. Clemons recently announced his “Fear & Love Tour – Ireland Edition” recently while being in Australia where he tours with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.
Since joining the Springsteen and The E Street Band as a tenor and saxophonist five years ago, stepping in for his uncle Clarence Clemons, Jake divided his time amongst performing his own music with his 2010-formed band around the globe, and touring with Springsteen.
With the release of Fear & Love, 2017 has been an especially big year for Clemons who, except of presenting new music, made appearances in The Tonight Show with Jim Fallon, E Street Radio, Rolling Stone Radio and more.
When working on Fear & Love, it was recorded at A Room With No VU –Empire Studios in Belleville Ontario, Steve Van Zandt’s Renegade Studio in New York City, Sick Island Studios, Nashville and mixed at House of Blues Studio “D” in Nashville. It was produced by Jake Clemons and Ryan Swinehart (Last Bison) and engineered by L Stu Young (Prince) and Geoff Sanoff (Darlene Love, Bruce Springsteen).

Fear & Love offers the listeners eleven songs of various types. The American musician works with vocals, his guitar and a multitude of other instruments. It leads the listener on a “journey that forges through loss & hardship and attempts to reconcile those challenges until finding its way to the freedom of being vulnerable and honest, mostly with yourself”, the singer explained when speaking about his album.
Clemons was last in Ireland in 2016 with the “E Street Band – River Tour”, but it will be the first return to Ireland with his own band since 2014. Besides Dublin, they will play shows in Belfast’s Empire Music Hall, Limerick’s Dolan’s and Cork’s Cyprus Avenue.
