It’s The End Of The World As We Know It
SOLOMON ‘It’s The End Of The World As We Know It’ [Crownn Records]
Purveyors of guitar-trash cover REM’s classic and do a reasonable job, noisier and more manic than its parent, but the vocalist does an excellent job on those fast-as-lightning lyrics. Quite why Solomon chose to cover such a well known number eludes me though, especially as the flip ‘This Might Happen’ proves that the band have at the very least one self-penned song of single quality. Perhaps the lead track was more fun for the band than it is for the listener? A pity, since these guys sound interesting.
