Paul's Boutique to receive commemorative mural
The mural will be located at the site where the iconic cover for the Beastie Boys album was photographed to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
In a report by Rolling Stone, The Beastie Boys' second album Paul's Boutique will be seeing a tribute mural at the corner of Rivington and Ludlow, where the Manhattan storefront once stood.
The mural will be done by artist Danielle Mastrion on the wall of Wolfnights, a sandwich shop currently occupying the space where the cover's Lee's Sportswear once stood. Mastrion began work Saturday morning. The project was pushed by LeRoy McCarthy who before has put forth an effort to rename the intersection Beastie Boys Square.
