Opus Kink announce new album A Hideous Collective
The album sales will raise funds in support of local UK venues and artists struggling with touring costs
Brighton post-punk group Opus Kink have announced A Hideous Collective, a 24-track compilation album set for release on September 5.
The album will raise funds for the Music Venue Trust and the UK Artist Touring Fund, two initiatives that help local venues and artists manage the growing costs of touring.
The record will also be available on vinyl and CD, sold exclusively through independent record stores.
The project features new and reworked tracks from a range of artists, including Wunderhorse, English Teacher, Katy J Pearson, Lambrini Girls and Antony Szmierek.
The album's lead track, ‘Thank You Satan’, is out now.
“This compilation is a celebration of everything that makes grassroots music culture so vital. Every track is a reminder that these spaces are not just stepping stones - they are sacred spaces of culture, rebellion, and connection,” said Music Venue Trust.
“Buying this record is doing more than raising funds; it’s an act of beautiful support and solidarity at a time when the grassroots still aren't valued for their essential contribution to the pipeline of talent in this country".
A Hideous Collective is out September 5. In the meantime, you can watch the music video for “Thank You Satan” below.
