In Tom Vek’s corner the quest for a lost link between Franz Ferdinand and Beck (Feck, anyone?) leads up a cul-de-sac of throbbing white-funk. In less capable clutches, the formula would reek of slovenly pastiche. Vek, however, has the chops of a contender and it won’t do to dismiss 'I Ain’t Saying My Goodbyes' simply because you are able to spot the references
