Hot Press takes a look at the Grand Canal Theatre
Yup, we're just back from a guided tour of the new Dublin venue.
Hotpress.com thought you might appreciate this sneak preview of the new 2,111-capacity Grand Canal Theatre, which opens on March 18 with a run of the Russian State Ballet’s Swan Lake.
The Harry Crosbie-owned venue is living up to its promise of having an eclectic booking policy, with Paul Brady, Ronan Keating, R. Kelly, Josh Ritter, Christy Moore, Mario Rosenstock, The Waterboys, Michael Bolton, Gilbert O’Sullivan and Achmed The Dead Terrorist comedian Jeff Dunham also putting in spring appearances there.
"We're being approached daily now by West End and international producers which will ensure that the Grand Canal Theatre will feature the best productions, which were previously unable to tour in this country," says the manager of the €80 million venue, Stephen Faloon.
