Hot Press speaks to Angel Haze
The machine-gun mouthed rapper took time out of a busy studio session to catch up with Hot Press for our new issue.
She's yet to release her debut album, but US rapper Angel Haze is already causing a massive stir online with her heart wrenchingly honest lyrics.
In an honest and open interview with Stuart Clark, Haze speaks about the track that first brought her to the attention of Hot Press 'Cleaning Out My Closet' – A painfully honest account of the abuse the Detroit native suffered as a kid.
"It scared the living shit out of me and I cried when I was making it. I was like, 'God, is this going to fracture me again like it did when it happened?' I was petrified putting it out there, but when I did I felt really empowered."
And in an unlikely turn of events (sorry Stuart no offence), our Hot Press Deputy Editor turned fashion guru to enlighten the stylish young Haze to the work of JW Anderson and his recent Mathematics Of Love menswear collection.
Read the full interview in the new edition of Hot Press which is available in shops now. Kendrick Lamar, Guggi, Denzel Washington, Stuart Neville and
James Morris also feature in the jam packed new edition. You can order this issue here
