Hanley and Archer for songwriting workshop
Mick Hanly and Iain Archer are among the names lined up for a a unique Songwriter's Weekend, set to take place in Finglas, in July.
The event, titled ‘An Fiach Dubh’ – Fingal Songwriter's Weekend, is the first in an annual series, bringing Irish and international songwriters together to provide master classes in the art.
Other participants in the event, which takes place at the superbly appointed Séamus Ennis Cultural Centre in Naul on Friday July 18 and Saturday July 19, will be legendary bluegrass writer Gary Ferguson and Peter Baxter of Songschool. Both Workshops will include an ‘in-the-round’ listening session during which attendees will be invited to perform their songs and hear constructive feedback, encouragement and advice from these experienced and successful songwriters and performers. There will be evening performances on both days, with Mick Hanly and Gary Ferguson appearing on Friday and Iain Archer on Saturday.
All songwriters are welcome, and admission is €10. Those who wish to attend the evening Performances can do so for an inclusive price of €20.00 for both the Workshop and the Performance. The workshops are supported by IMRO.
Food will be available all day from The Cottage Café at The Séamus Ennis
