GWAR announce Irish shows
They're Belfast and Dublin-bound in January...
Those most theatrical of heavy metallers, GWAR, make what we believe to be their North/South debuts next month (please correct us if we’re wrong!) when they visit the Spring & Airbrake, Belfast (January 16) and The Academy, Dublin (17).
Taking their theatrical inspiration from KISS, the Virginian outfit put on a sensory-overloading show that is definitely not for the faint-hearted.
Their upcoming European tour is being dedicated to Flattus Maximus, AKA GWAR guitarist Cory Smoot who was found dead on the band’s tour bus on November 3 as they prepared to cross the border into Canada.
“Let’s make these shows a celebration of Cory Smoot, one of the most amazing players in metal,” urges the band’s Oderus Urungus. “I’m calling on the European GWAR family to get out there and drag everybody in sight to these gigs! We shall honor Flattus Maximus in the only way we know how… by rocking the fuck out!”
