Guns N'Roses: Six of their Best Songs
We're excited for May 27.
'Welcome to the Jungle'
The song which opened every concert from 2001 up until this year's Not in This Lifetime... tour, 'Welcome to the Jungle' is a thrashing, all-guns-blazing introductory salvo to the GnR world.
'Patience'
Stripped back Guns N'Roses with pleasing acoustics and a whistling Axl Rose. They told the people of Ireland all they needed was just "a little patience", now they're ready to rock at Slane Castle.
'Civil War'
Another whistling opener, this time a verbal interplay with a seminal speech from 1967's Cool Hand Luke. 'Civil War' is a mediation on war and human rights that's as lyrically dark as it is emotionally rousing. The words still ring true.
'November Rain'
One of the defining power ballads from the last 30 years, 'November Rain' features sweeping orchestral arrangements, a classic music video, and one of the most insane guitar solos ever, courtesy of Slash. It's impossible to look away for the whole nine minutes.
'Sweet Child O' Mine'
Even if you don't like Guns N'Roses, you like the song. Even if you don't recognise their music, you recognise Slash's opening riff on 'Sweet Child O' Mine'. This is just one of those iconic songs which will never grow old.
